The alleged driver’s licence was suspended for a year after he was allegedly caught travelling at nearly double the legal speed limit. A 61-year-old South Australian man is without his Ferrari sports car for at least 28 days after a speed camera allegedly captured the vehicle travelling at 76km/h above the legal speed limit. According to South Australia Police, the alleged driver was speeding in his Ferrari 812 GTS at Paracombe – a town approximately 22km northeast of Adelaide – on 11 May 2024. Authorities claim the speed camera clocked the vehicle at 156km/h in an 80km/h zone with officers charging the man with multiple offences relating to dangerously speeding and driving at excessive speeds.

South Australia Police said the alleged offender was issued an immediate 12-month licence suspension, with the exotic sports car – worth more than $700,000 – impounded for 28 days.
